    Another round of Nintendo bullshit.

Going to be hilarious if the Switch 2 falls victim to the PicoFly modchip. Because all the plans for it are public.

Yeah, though what the hell are so many still doing hosting all their illegal shit on GitHub? That's just asking to get DMCA'd. Also, I love how we've been hosting Lockpick for a long time and we still haven't even received a single notice yet. lol
  • @ Vendor-Lazarus:
    That can be ... arranged.

DMCA doesn't apply to EU. They'll have to send a notice under the proper local law. Which is much more annoying to do. Still plausible, but yeah.

Yes, why are you reposting that? All notices cited are DMCA notices to GitHub which is US-hosted. All US hosting falls under DMCA restrictions as it is a US law.
  • @ CharlieTheStooge:
As oppressive as GitHub and the DMCA is at least they publish a record of all the take-down requests that are received and acted upon.
  • @ CharlieTheStooge:
As far as I tell when Nintendo tried to twist the arm of GitLab they just quietly disappeared the repository of Suyu into the abyss and acted very cagey about who exactly sent the notice and the claims contained within. And I think someone from Suyu said they had not even seen the original notice sent to GitLab.
  • @ CharlieTheStooge:
Kind of funny to me because I think GitLab was started by Russians but later moved to the USA. But it probably has something to do with the business side of things.

So weird. GitLab was supposed to be the LESS overbearing solution of the two. Way to just blow up any trust people had in them.
  • @ CharlieTheStooge:
@Arnox You might laugh at this. Checked the old Yuzu domain and as far as I can tell Nintendo has not tried to setup the telemetry server again.
  • @ CharlieTheStooge:
(Yes I know forks and other builds without telemetry exist. But I would not feel sorry if Nintendo setup a telemetry server and 'someone' fed it absolutely useless garbage.)

That would be funny, though I don't think Nintendo's lawyers care enough to actually do anything more than send pushy DMCA notices to creators they don't like. Maybe actually launch a lawsuit if the creator is big enough.
